This visual assignment required that I take a photo of something and transform it into a drawing.
I tried this drawing filter with a couple of different pictures… I liked this one best. This here is a snapchat selfie from my FIRST time in Seattle this past October. Not sure how familiar you all are with snapchat but depending on your location you can add geo-tags to a snap picture or video. This was my favorite geo-tag from Seattle since it included the space needle. The pattern behind me in this drawing is actually a wall full of gum! You’re probably thinking gross right ? When you get past the gross aspect, the gum wall is actually pretty neat. Tourist come from all over the world and leave a piece of gum behind, some even leave notes and pictures. I made sure to leave my piece behind as well, although though you won’t find it there anymore. FUN FACT: The gum wall was cleaned this past November for the first time in 20 years! Just my luck. Seattle is a beautiful city with some of the nicest people, so I definitely plan on visiting again. I’ll make sure to have gum in my pocket with the hopes of leaving my mark for the next 20 years ! Gum wall, we will meet again…
I found this time lapse video online incase anyone is interested in seeing how they got rid of all that gum. http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/how-much-gum-dotted-pike-place-markets-post-alley/
Turn your images into drawings too! You can see how extremely easy it is in my tutorial.
