Aliens are pretty cool. Wouldn’t it be cool if YOU could see them? Turn that possibility into reality! Start by going to picmonkey.com, select “Edit a Photo”.
Select a photo of an eye that you’d like to use by clicking “Open”.
Here is the original photo I selected. As you can see it’s just a plain ol’ brown eye. Great, but nothing too special.
On the left hand side under “Basic Edits”, select the butterfly icon. This icon represents the overlay option. Prior to this I had already selected which picture I would use. Through trial and error I discover a helpful tip. Choose a photo with a dark background if you are using a dark colored eye. It helps the two images blend together.
Resize the overlay image to fit inside the eye, rotate it if you need to. In order to achieve the best results you may have to play around with the editing options. I found that the “Lighten” blend mode option, along with a little fading, had the best results. I’m sure the editing effects range depending on the images you are using though so play around until it looks right. Don’t worry if it takes some time.
After a little time and a lot of patience, you’ve officially seen an alien! Hope you all enjoy this picture as much as I do. Definitely recommend this visual assignment. Take a look at Out Of This World to see why I chose an alien.
